27-летний французский специалист по искусственному интеллекту из университета Реймса Алексис Лемэр, которого называют человеком-компьютером, установил очередной рекорд по вычислению в уме корня 13-й степени из 200-значного числа.

Чтобы извлечь корень 13-й степени из 200-значного числа Лемэру потребовалось 70,2 секунды, хотя предыдущий его же рекорд, который он установил в ноябре этого года, составлял 72,4 секунды.

Ранее Лемэр совершенствовался в извлечении корня 13-й степени из 100-значного числа, но в 2004 году, когда довел свой результат до 4 секунд, усложнил себе задачу.

Следует отметить, что эксперимент по извлечению корня проходил следующим образом:  200-значное число случайным образом выбирал компьютер, к тому же оно было таким, чтобы корень был целым числом.

Необходимо подчеркнуть, что Лемэр во время своих вычислений не использует никаких подручных средств. Время, называемое результатом, начинает отсчитываться в тот момент, когда на экране компьютера появляется задание. Отсчет заканчивается, когда Лемэр сообщает ответ. В последнем испытании ответ равнялся 2 407 899 893 032 210.

Сам рекордсмен сообщил, что для того, чтобы достичь таких результатов, он ежедневно тренируется, развивая оперативную память и математические навыки.

Ученые до сих пор не могут понять, почему у некоторых людей развиваются такие выдающиеся счетные способности.
